SL Pics Taken 8/30/2012

Here's An Update!

Hi All!!
Today, marks 4 mos. and a couple of weeks since I had my sisterlocks installed on April 15-16, 2012!!  Yay!!  I "LOVE" them!!  It is so freeing to wake up, shake, and go!!! LOL

During my journey, I have had slippage in the back but my loctician says this is normal.  Not to mention, my hair has been growing... ALOT!!  I continue to take a multi-vitamin, hair, nails, and skin vitamin, and biotin and let me tell you... they work!!

Before getting sisterlocks, I had thinning around the edges.  Now, my edges are filling in thicker!! I am sooooo happy!!!  I wish I had taken before pics but I am uploading pics of how my edges are now.

Because my hair is growing fast, I see my loctician every 4 weeks.  I look forward to my retightening because my hair is barely lasting 3 weeks because of the new growth!! :)  But I am not complaining because I am in love with each and every loc!!  Plus, I "LOVE" my loctician: Lakia!!  She is the "BEST" in Waldorf!!!

Enjoy the pics and take care!!

SLs retightening 5/31/2012
Pic taken 5/11/2012

Hi all!!

My how time flies!  I can't believe it's been over a month since my last entry.  So, let me update you!!

Three weeks after my sisterlocks installation, I had my 1st retightening, which took about 3 hours.  Lakia, my loctician, was rolling!!  (Love her!!) I had some new growth which I was happy to hear.  My next appt. was scheduled for 6/10 but I had to go in sooner...

Yesterday, 5/31/2012, I had my 2nd retightening, which took 4 hours.  ALOT had happened to my locs within the 4 week time period.  The back row of my locs had a lot of slippage.  Talk about panicking!!   Plus, I had ALOT of new growth.  Because of this, Lakia was kind enough to let me come in sooner for retightening.  She said the slippage was normal and she knew exactly where the slippage occured even before she saw it!!  The back of the hair is our softest spot, so slippage normally happens in that area.  I asked if I should do anything differently and Lakia said nope, keep doing what I am doing. :)

To help my SLs, I take biotin and a multi-vitamin every day.  Plus, I try to drink alot of water, which is a challenge.  Also, I exercise... well, I go walking along a trail near my home.  :)

I am IN LOVE with my SLs!!!  It is such a joy to wake up and go!  After exercising, I stand underneath the shower for a few seconds to get the sweat out of my hair and let it air dry.  If my SLs are all over the place when I wake up, I take my spray bottle and spritz my hair so the SLs will fall.  I have these curly ends, which I love!!  I get so many inquiries!!

I have not styled my SLs because I read that less handling helps with less slippage.  So, I do nothing and that is fine with me! :)

I will update you all again in about a month or unless something extraordinary happens.  Here are some pics.  Enjoy!
